I think MySpace has a considerable potential when it comes to marketing and advertising simply because it has a huge user base.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about MySpace. You have highlighted some of the challenges and benefits that we face when deciding whether to engage in social networks. We realize that it is an individual (organizational) decision. We're glad to hear your decision has helped you connect with others. Connection, whether it be online or face-to-face, is important to all of us. Best - AIDS.gov team

I have mixed emotions regarding MySpace as a tool for social networking. On the one hand, you have to find your way through all the chaos and riff raff to get to the good information. On the other hand, the good information is there if researched hard enough, and not that hard to find. I have been there about a year, blogged every so often, and now find myself with a network of 222 million people. I did almost nothing to get that. Though I do not have AIDS, and my heart goes out to those who do, I have a potentially fatal heart disease and am able to interact with others who have the same. I also own a number of web stores and I don't have to push them for folks to come by and see what is there. So, in spite of its imperfections, I would say it has its benefits....and,... since it has many young people, if us (older) ones can influence them enough, many are in college in sciences and medicine and you never know, it might be just enough to get them into research; stranger things have happened than someone you might have just chatted with now on their way to find a cure for our illnesses.
Sincerely,
Rick London
