I suport any efforts that include focusing in on MSM and the GBLT communities. I live in Baltimore and attend many meeting every month that want to focus on specific communities such as MSM and GBLT, along with a few others. Seldom do we seem to have time to discuse specifics (frount line efforts). We must start looking at specifics.
Thanks,
David Shamer

Dear Mr. Bond,
I thought I should send you the following information: See the following articles: Virology 184:716-722, 1991; J. Inf. Dis. 186: 321-31, 2002. The test described in the 2nd article allow detection of HIV 1-2 months earlier than the currently used tests can. We have been attempting to get funding to perform a clinical trial in which people identified as early HIV infected by our test would be treated with the current drugs and we suspect they would be cured of the infection within 3-6 months of treatment. We have met with some resistence to this idea, but remember many good ideas are often met with resistence. I don't know if commenting here will help us get this trial going, but I thought it would be worth a try. Thanks, for reading this.
