I salute all those who have been involved to the fight since its begenning, and I also salut those who join along the way. It is a fact tnat we are still facing great challenges to end HIV/AIDS in the world. We lost many friends and we do have many who are living. For that we are grateful must be grateful for the success of prolongation of life in the scientifique development.

As the first black Woman in the world to be the Founder of an AIDS Prevention Organization in Los angeles in 1987 I known how it is a challange to teach our people to protect themselves. 25+ years later we have made great progress but we still have a long way to go and have a long road ahead.

I wish I could be with you but unfortunatelty I am not able to attend I hope for sur next time. I trust there will be some great lessons shared and learned which can be used as tools to help in greater and better ways to approach the people.

I am concerned that there are area still not being served in New york where I reside now. As I took a break in teaching I became an observer and note taker and I found there is lot to be done still. There are hisatories that will take your breath away. Abuses of teens and women and the silence to prtect their life is heart broken. I am sure those histories will surface and we wiil have a better ideas of the challenges ahead.

I wish everyone great luck and I want to congratulate everyone here for a great job. Now that our teens are sexually involved at a rate that is too fast therefore we need to speed up to cath up with them. They are our future therefore we must do our best to assure that they have the right information to protect themselves and to become responsible to carry on to the next generation to come. Once again congratulations! to all. Happy 30th!

Thanks!
