HealthCare.gov Launches New Site and New Services to Answer Your Questions

Healthcare.govThis week, the folks at HealthCare.gov showcased new features of their website and the new Health Insurance Marketplace call center now available to help get you ready to shop for the new coverage options in the online marketplaces going live in less than 100 days. In a Google hangout held on July 10, 2013, Julie Bataille from Healthcare.gov was joined by Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner of MomsRising Exit Disclaimer, an online and grassroots organization working to achieve economic security for families in the United States, for a live conversation about how people can use features of the recently the re-launched HealthCare.gov. Watch a recording of Julie and Kristin’s conversation on the HealthCare.gov YouTube channel Exit Disclaimer. You’ll hear them answer questions about health care reform posed via Twitter. Then, be sure to go to Healthcare.gov to check out two important new resources they discuss that are now available to answer your questions about health care reform:

  1. A new “live chat” feature on HealthCare.gov. You’ll notice that a small black rectangle with the words “Questions? Live Chat” pops up in the bottom right-hand corner of pages as you navigate through the site. Click on it at any time to chat online with trained professionals and ask your questions about health care reform, how it impacts you and your family, and how to prepare for the opening of Health Insurance Marketplaces on October 1, 2013.
  2.  If you prefer to talk in-person, a new hotline was also recently launched. It offers 24/7 access via telephone to trained representatives who can also help answer your questions about the Marketplaces. The toll-free number is 1-800-318-2596 and the TTY line is 1-855-889-4325.

These are just two of the new ways for you to learn more about the Health Insurance Marketplace and your coverage options. As Julie and her HealthCare.gov colleagues say, “You’ve got questions. We’ve got answers.” Take them up on their offer and check out these new information resources.
