AIDS 2014 Day 3: CDC’s Laura Kann on Adolescents and HIV-Related Risk Behavior

Dr. Laura Kann, head of the School-Based Surveillance Branch in CDC’s Division of Adolescent and School Health, is attending AIDS 2014 to present a study entitled “Unequal Progress and Cause for Concern: Differences in HIV-Related Risk Behavior Trends Among Subgroups of Adolescents, 1991-2013Exit Disclaimer.

The study, which is based on data from the CDC’s National Youth Risk Behavior Survey, found that only about one in five (22%) U.S. high school students who are sexually experienced have been tested for HIV.
